Gas Pipe/Aluminium Pipe/PE-AL-PEXA Pipe /Multilayer Pipe for Hot & Cold Water System ISO CSA ASTM

PE.:
Polyethylene (PE for short) is a thermoplastic resin made by polymerizing ethylene. In industry, it also includes copolymers of ethylene and a small amount of α-olefins. Polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, feels like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance (the minimum use temperature can reach -100~-70°C), has good chemical stability, and can withstand most acids and alkalis (not resistant to oxidation) Nature of acid). It is insoluble in general solvents at room temperature, has low water absorption and excellent electrical insulation.
PEX-A tubing is produced using Peroxide (or, "Engel") method, named after the inventor Tomas Engel. During the manufacturing process, free radicals are created when HDPE polymer is melted and cross-links between molecules occur at temperatures that exceed the decomposition temperature of the polymer.

Advantages of PEX-A tube:
1. It is non-toxic, tasteless, hygienic, non-corrosive, does not breed bacteria, does not pollute the water quality, the inner wall is smooth, and the runny is small.
2. Temperature and pressure resistance, can work stably in the environment of -40~110°C, and the burst pressure can reach 6.0Mpa.
3. The thermal conductivity is as high as 0.35W/m.k, which is especially suitable for floor heating pipes and cold and hot water supply pipes.
4. Good thermal insulation performance, no scaling when conducting heat, and no frosting when conducting cooling.
5. Creep resistance, aging resistance, and a service life of more than 50 years.
6. The cost of installation and maintenance is low, and the phenomenon of "blocking, leaking, dripping and leakage" is avoided.
7. It is resistant to chemical corrosion and can be used as a pipe for petroleum, chemical industry and gas.

What's the multilayer pipe?

Multilayer pipes are a "composite pipe", which are made of composite materials with a five layers' structure. The inner & outer layers are regularly made of PEX/ PERT (or HDPE) material, middle layer is aluminum core, which is welded in a seamless laser welding technology or overlap welding technology. To bond the PEX layers to aluminum layer, a special adhesive shall be used.

What's the main difference between butt welding & overlap welding of multilayer pipe?
Overlap welding technology is ultrasonic type welding, by using ultrasonic to weld the aluminum in a overlap way.
Butt welding technology, also called "seamless butt laser welding", is to weld the aluminum by laser in a seamless butt welding way.
 
By comparison to overlap welded multilayer pipe, the laser welded pipe is considered to be more stable on aluminum welding jointing, especially when the pipe is rounded & bevelled by reamer, the multilayer pipe with laser welding is no easy to crack off.
