1.What's the multilayer pipe?
Multilayer Pipe, also called multilayer composite pipe MLCP, or composite pipe, has been widely used for hot & cold water plumbing systems, underfloor heating systems & indoor gas distributions.,etc.
Multilayer pipes are a "composite pipe", which are made of composite materials with a five layers' structure. The inner & outer layers are regularly made of PEX/ PERT (or HDPE) material, middle layer is aluminum core, which is welded in a seamless laser welding technology or overlap welding technology. To bond the PEX layers to aluminum layer, a special adhesive shall be used.

Multilayer pipe is made into GB/T18997 standard.At the same time, it can confirm to ASTM F 1281/1282 & EN ISO 21003 standard.
4.What's the main difference between butt welding & overlap welding of multilayer pipe?
Butt welding & overlap welding are the most regular welding technology for aluminum core of multilayer pipe.
Overlap welding technology is ultrasonic type welding, by using ultrasonic to weld the aluminum in a overlap way.
utt welding technology, also called "seamless butt laser welding", is to weld the aluminum by laser in a seamless butt welding way.
By comparison to overlap welded multilayer pipe, the laser welded pipe is considered to be more stable on aluminum welding jointing, especially when the pipe is rounded & beveled by reamer, the multilayer pipe with laser welding is no easy to crack off.
